Nick Idoni's House of Ribs - Photos by Scott Clapper - Last
weekend's (November 1) lunch cruise to Nick Idoni's House of Ribs was
great. We met at the Grottos' parking lot in South Bethany. It was a cold
cloudy day but Bill and Dianne came roaring into the parking lot in true
Beachcomber fashion - with the top down!
El Presidente led the caravan down Coastal Highway to Ocean City.

Crab Feast - Photos by Scott Clapper - The threat of weather kept
some of the Corvettes in the garage. Bill Vernon led the caravan to a yummy
crab feast in Easton at the Talbot Ag Center on September 27. The
crabs were delicious!
Station 7 Lunch Cruise - Photos by Scott Clapper -
8 Corvettes
(and 1 HHR) met at Payless in Millsboro. Joe & Karen Schluck's yellow '04
led the caravan for a lunch cruise to the metropolis of Pittsville. We dined
at Station 7 (http://station7restaurant.com/). An old fire hall that has
been converted into a restaurant. Dianne Shaw picked the lunch spot. GREAT
CHOICE! The menu is varied and all of us said good things about the food and
service. Now, for the big news... Joe's '04 had four (4) bugs splatted on
his front bumper (I counted them) on the cruise to Pittsville. That's the
dirtiest I have ever seen his car. |

LUNCH CRUISE - August 31- Photo Show by Scott Clapper - On August
31, the Beachcombers met at Payless in Millsboro for a lunch cruise. We had
14 Corvettes and 1 HHR. Bill, please rent a bobcat and get the stone moved
from in front of your garage so you can get your Corvette out. El Presidente
led the caravan to west Ocean City. Jim Willis had picked the Captain's
Galley II as the restaurant de cruise. The food was great. The conversation
was great. The weather was great. |

CORVETTES AT CARLISLE - Photos by Scott Clapper - This was our
first year at Carlisle. You can't imagine anything like it. The whole
Carlisle fairgrounds covered in Corvettes and Corvette parts. If you are
looking for a part for your car, I suggest making a sign with the needed
part on it. All you have to do is walk around until somebody says they have
what you are looking for. One more tip... if you go to next year's
Carlisle, halve the clothes and double the money you take with you!! |

Eight cars participated in the American Legion Car Show today
(7/19/08). Beachcombers had cars from 1975 - 2008 represented. It was a
hot day, but a covered pavilion provided shade and a breeze cooled us as
much as possible. A hot breakfast buffet got the Beachcombers engines
started.
Congratulations to Tom & Ruthi Macknight! Their 1976 coupe garnered
another trophy. Walking away with a trophy was also Jim Willis for his
"arrest-me-red" 1975 convertible.
I believe that the previous car show winners should have to buy lunch at
the next lunch cruise. Do I hear a motion? All in favor!!!

Kent Island Lunch with the DC/Baltimore Cobra Club
- April 12, 2008
Some before and after pictures from this past Saturday's Kent Island
lunch with the DC/Baltimore Cobra club. The weather was "iffy" when
we left Rehoboth. We made it to Harris Crab House without incident.
During our lunch, it rained, to say the least. Note the Cobras that
do not HAVE ANY TOP whatsoever. After taking off their shoes and
pushing their cars out of the flood, they then had to towell of the
INSIDE of their cars.

Lunch was great. We made new friends who just might be crazier about
their cars than we are.
Much thanks to Bill Vernon for organizing the event.
