Meeting Location

Dinner 6:00   Meeting 7:30

First Thursday of the month

October 7th  at

Gartside Restaurant in Roxana , DE

The WAVE says we are to meet at a restaurant in Laurel , Delaware but that is wrong!!!!  We repeatedly tried to get the correction made but they were not responsive.

Gartside’s is located on Route 20 in the heart of Roxana.  Their dinner menu includes everything from sandwiches to full dinners and the food is really good.  It’s a favorite to the locals.  Their phone number is 302-436-1599.  See you there!

Future meeting locations:

We’re always looking for a new place.  The  restaurant must have a separate room suitable for about 30 people and be willing to give us individual checks.

As we increase our membership there is a possibility we may have to meet without dinner.

T.R. Ellis is HOME and doing good!

Anyone who can deny the existence of God or a supreme being hasn’t been living at the Ellis home for the past month and clearly hasn’t been to the University of Maryland ’s Shock Trauma Center .  Gloria hopes to be at the October meeting at Gartside’s but I just could not wait to tell you how well T.R. is doing.  He had his neck bones fused so there is limited range of motion in his neck but the operation was a raging success.  He is walking with room for improvement and he is talking.   By now he has begun speech therapy and physical therapy and he is ON THE ROAD TO BEING HIMSELF.           Rumor has it that the motorcycle is being sold and he’s looking for a Corvette!  Now there’s a smart man!  Let’s keep T. R. in our prayers along with Gloria and her Son.  It is not going to be easy!

Beachcombers Corvette Club 2004 Car Show – Another successful event !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Our club stands proud again in 2004 after our successful car show.  A more detailed report on the event will be presented at the October 7th meeting.  It appears we have covered all our expenses and have money to put in our treasury!

Connie Magee chaired the food concessions that day and she reported that it was a long day for her and Rose Leister.  Tom and Carolyn Brinker, who solely handled registration all day, had the same observation for that task.  Likewise the set-up crew could have used more help also.  The ultimate concensus was that next year we get our members to sign up for specific shifts at the food concession and registration table as well as having a large crew for set up.  The overall show preparations will have to start much earlier and a Car Show Committee will have to be created so tasks can be accomplished in a more timely manner.

First State Corvette Club had their Car Show on September 18th and we hope they will share information with us about their preparations and time line.
