PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:

 

Hello everyone!   Hope you are well and enjoying the hot weather that is still hanging on.  By now the seemingly endless flow of house guests have made their way home and we are settling into the season without vacationers…the one we love best.

 

It’s time to begin planning for the last quarter of the year.  I’ll be contacting the Millsboro Chamber of Commerce to get information about the Christmas Parade.  I would really like the Club to do one of the local holiday parades and I hope you agree.  If you live in other areas where parades are conducted please get the information and report on it at the October 6th club meeting so we can begin making plans before our individual calendars become booked.

 

Kudos go out to  Kathy & Richard Miller for coming up with the idea to do the Mystery Cruise on Sunday, October 9th.  They’ve arranged for everything…all we do is show up.  It should be a lot of fun for an early Fall cruise!

 

Please take a look at Carolyn’s Activities Section.  She has a lot of events listed and the more members attending the more fun we have.

 

Speaking of members…help me welcome our newest ones…Mark Lowe, Albert Green, Jim & Kathy Geary, George & Bernita Stadler, Maria DeSmet, and her Daughter, Sandra Gilbert!

Welcome to our New Members – If you’ve seen a 2004 Red Coupe flying across the Route 90 causeway it was likely Jim & Kathy Geary of Ocean Pines.  Did you see the 2004 Black Coupe cruising along Route 24?  That was George & Bernita Stadler of Lewes.  How if you’re traveling between here and Smyrna be on the lookout for the Mother/Daughter team of Maria DeSmet and Sandra Gilbert in their 2005 Silver Coupe.  If you see any of these new members GIVE A WAVE and yell ‘WELCOME TO THE CLUB!

Monthly Meeting Minutes – September 1, 2005

 

The meeting was called to order by President Bill Shaw at 7:35 p.m.

 

Members Present:  Sharon & Bill Vernon, Michelle & Wayne Esposito, Richard Miller, Cindy & Doug Riniker, Joe Scott, Dianne & Bill Shaw, Lynne Buckwalter, Lana & Larry Wesley, Marion & Peter Bon, Rick Berry, Tanya & Ed Marcelle, Ray Myers.  Guest –Randy.

 

The minutes of the meeting of August 4, 2005 – motion by Bill Shaw with second by Wayne Esposito to accept the minutes as submitted.  All were in favor.

 

Treasurer’s Report showed August 1, 2005 beginning balance of $3,965.02 and an ending balance of $3,688.50.   Detailed report is maintained by the Treasurer.  Bill Vernon made a motion to accept the report and it was second by Rick Berry.  All were in favor.

 

Car Show report was made by the Treasurer.  Approximately $500 was netted.

 

All members with Birthday’s in September were acknowledged and given “Best Wishes”.

 

Sunday, September 11th there’s the annual Race Your Corvette Drag Race at Crofton Raceway.  Wayne Esposito will be going.  He can give you info if you want it.

 

Membership Applications from Maria DeSmet, Sandra Gilbert, and George & Bernita Stadler  were read to the members.  Ray Myers made a motion to accept the applicants.  It was second by Bill Vernon.  All were in favor.

 

Dianne Shaw made a presentation and passed out menus from Pizza Palace in Millsboro, DE.  She requested the club consider meeting there in October, November, and December.  A motion was made by Cindy Riniker and second by Ray Myers to do that,  All were in favor.  A notice will be placed in the newsletter.

 

In the 50/50 drawing Lana Wesley won $27.00.

Lynne Buckwalter won the Door Prize

 

The meeting was then adjourned.

WHEN - Sunday – October 9th

 

TIME - 10:00 a.m. meet at the Midway Movie Theaters on Route 1/Highway 1 in Rehoboth Beach across from Super Fresh.

 

               From there we will cruise to Rich Miller’s home in Milton, Delaware.  To

               Get there go up Rt. 1 to Cave Neck Road.  Make a LEFT onto Cave Neck

               Road then a RIGHT onto Hudson Road.  Make a LEFT into River Rock

               Run community.  At 1st STOP sign make a RIGHT and go to Rich’s house

               At 29038 Winding River Court (look for the Corvettes).  Rich’s cell phone

               Is 302-236-1936.

 

               From there were will continue on up Rt. 1 toward Dover where we hope

               To meet with others from the 1st State Corvette Club.

 

               From there…….IT’S A MYSTERY!

 

1 ½ hours or so later we’ll be having a wonderful seafood lunch or dinner if you choose.  If you are not a seafood person, you may have chicken or steak.

 

Cost – about $25.00 per person for a dinner meal from salad to dessert, with coffee or tea or less if you have lunch.

 

THE SCENERY WILL BE GREAT!  THERE WILL BE OTHER THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU GET THERE.

 

SO SHINE UP YOUR VETTE… SMILE…PUT ON SOME COMFORTABLE, CASUAL CLOTHING AND LET’S GO ! ! !
