PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

What a learning process this Presidency is! Let me apologize to everyone who sat behind me at the May 5th meeting. It never dawned on me that I could not be heard clearly. I've decided to have the officers sit together for the business meeting…in front of the membership. That should bring a little more formality and control to the meeting. Speaking of the next meeting……….we're at Bonanza in Millsboro!

WOW…what a turnout we had for the Adopt-A-Highway clean up! Thanks to Dale, Lynne, Ray, Marie, Don, Lew, Janet, Pete, Marion, John, Doug, Cindy, Bill, Sharon, Dianne, Buddy, his Daughter, Courtney, and John Stitchberry. We looked smashing in our orange vests…and the pizza was GREAT!

The first article in this newsletter announces our Car Show Planning Meeting at the Magees on Wednesday, May 18th at 7 p.m. This is our 6th show which means there's a lot of knowledge in our members…Past Presidents…previous organizers…sponsor recruiters…food concessions…trophy organization …awards… etc. I encourage you to come to the meeting because we need your knowledge. If you can't make the meeting call me at 541-4891 and let me know I can count on you to be on a committee. Many participants will allow for an equitable distribution of duties…and time for each of us to enjoy the activities of the show. The car show is August 20th and I hope to see you at the May 18th meeting or hear from you!

We have a shirt and jacket order that is ready to be called into the EMS. We will place the order May 19th so call me or Dianne if you need a new or additional shirt. Shirts are $33.53 and jackets are $79.53. Plus sizes are about $2-$5 more.

Former members, Lil & John Stichberry, have rejoined…they missed us in their retirement! It was also good to see Jack & Linda Casto at the meeting. The Casto's primary residence is in The Villages in Florida. We currently have 60 members… with room for lots more!

We have a lot of fun activities coming up and I hope you will participant as much as possible. If you can't come to the June 2nd meeting but are going on the Tangier Island cruise, please read the activities section because you have to get your check mailed to Lynne Buckwalter ASAP. After the June 11th Tangier Island Cruise our members, Eric Leister & Don Magee, have invited us to join them at the Crisfield Elks where we can enjoy some light fare, cold beverages, and fun. Members will be responsible for their own tabs.

Enjoy yourselves and I'll see you at the Magees on May 18th! Thanks everyone.

Bill
