HAPPY ARE THOSE WHO ATTEND CLUB MEETINGS

FOR THEY COULD BE REWARDED

The $37.00 March 50/50 was won by Doug Riniker.  Cindy was there so she KNOWS!

It was so good to see Lenny & Debbie Kozarski at the meeting.  They are caregivers for an aging aunt so we don’t see them too often.  They donated door prizes of cookies, which were won by Richard Miller, and a linen towel calendar won by Peter Bon.

The Brinker’s donated a Yankee Candle which was won by Cindy Riniker.   Fred Chidister donated a Squigee, Shower Curtain Hooks, and several Books which were won by Lynne Buckwalter, Tom Brinker, and Janet Smith.

I hope I got all the donators and winner correct!  It was a very busy, bustling session!  FUN!

Our door prizes are simply a fun way of saying “Thanks” for attending the meeting.  You may donate a wrapped, moderately priced gift item to the club which will then be used as a door prize at a future meeting.  Examples of door prizes might be wine, auto cleaning supplies, garden items, corvette books etc.

A MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR!  - MEMBERS!  DO YOU OWN A BUSINESS?  LET THE NEWSLETTER SPREAD THE WORD!

When I started producing the newsletter electronically I stopped providing our service of printing the business cards of our members who own businesses.  At this writing I do not possess the skills necessary to include those business cards in our monthly publication HOWEVER I have been assured I’m capable of learning the skills necessary to do it. SO, IN THAT REGARD, please send me or hand me your business card for publication in our newsletter.  At present I do not have any.  If you want your business noted in the newsletter, please send me your business card.  After you’ve done that….pray I can be educated.     My address is:

AWARDS – AWARDS – TROPHIES – PLAQUES – ETC.

Thanks for Bill Vernon it appears our hopes and dreams for a trophy case at First State Chevy-Olds-Kodiak are going to become a reality.  Before it’s constructed we need to know just what we have to put in it.  Some of our members have been gracious enough over the years to keep our various awards in their home since we had no trophy case.  Now we need to get everything to a centralized site for the carpenter to see.  If you have any trophies, plaques, etc. that were awarded to the club, please bring them to the April meeting.  If you have some but are unable to attend the meeting, please call Dianne Shaw at (302) 541-4891 or e-mail her at zinykake@aol.com so she can arrange delivery or pick-up.

March  3,2005

Vice President Dale Buckwalter called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

29  members  were present: Don and Connie Magee, Bill and Dianne Shaw, Rose and  Eric Leister,  Dale  and  Lynne Buckwalter, Peter and Marion Bon, Joe Worts, Lewis & Janet Smith, Tom and Carolyn Brinker and Rick & Linda Berry, Ed and Tonya Marcelle, Fred Chidister, Donna Dunning. Doug & Cindy Riniker, Lawrence & Lana Wesley, Len & Debbie Kozarski, Buddy Clark, and Richard Miller.

The  Vice  President, Dale Buckwalter, then  asked for the Secretary's report. Donna Dunning asked  if  there were any additions or corrections to the minutes as stated in  the  newsletter  and  then  requested  that  the minutes be approved as written.  Bill Shaw made a motion to have minutes approved as written and Connie Magee seconded  the  motion and they were unanimously approved. I reported that I mailed  a  check to the Delaware Hospice for $183.55 which was for the Trim a tree at Grotto's Pizza.

Lynne  Buckwalter read  the  treasurer's report. Rose Leister made a motion to have the report approved  and  Rick Berry seconded  and  they  were  unanimously approved. Lynne stated annual dues have to be paid by March 31, 2005 to vote in the April election. The cost is $12.50 per person and $25.00 per couple.

The Vice President, Dale Buckwalter, stated there were no new application at this time.

Connie Magee stated  since  we did not have a nominating committee for the 2004 election she typed up a sign up sheet for the offices to be voted on. Connie will make the ballots to be handed out at the  April meeting and she will send Dianne an absentee ballot for inclusion in the March newsletter.

Carolyn Brinker gave the activities report:  Wwe will be meeting at Magnolia's Bar  and Grill for April, May, and June meetings. Directions will be in the newsletter.  We  are  still  looking  for  locations  that will do separate checks. Carolyn reviewed the scheduled events listed in the newsletter, and stated  that  the  Trip  4-16-5 to the Medieval Times Dinner show would cost $56.65  per person. You will need to have the money in to the Treasurer by April 1st  to have a  seat.  She  stated  we can plan a meeting place at the next meeting. The Shorebirds  Game  is scheduled for July 16th. She would like to plan a trip in  June  to
Tangier   Island .  The  club voted on June 11th Saturday. Cost $22.00  for boat and $17.00 for dinner.  The boat leaves Crisfield at 12.30pm. and we’d get back to Crisfield at 5:15.   We will have more details at the next meeting and a sign up sheet. Carol also reminded everyone of the St  Patrick's Day party at there home, on Saturday, March 19th.  Members are asked to bring an appetizer or dessert.

Joe Worts arrived late having been detained on the
Bay Bridge .  He implored the Brinkers to submit receipts for the  cost of food and soda so the club could reimburse them.  Joe feels the club should assist or pay for the evening not them.  Carolyn said she would see what the costs were then she would decide what to do.

Rick  Berry  reminded everyone to see his for any name tags to be ordered the at a cost of $6.00•

Connie  Magee stated  that  Don Magee and Bill Vernon were working with our club sponsor, Lee Turek , at First State Chevy Olds about building  a trophy case for the club. Dianne Shaw stated that  we  should  bring  all our trophies to the next meeting to see what  size  case should be built. Len Kozarski stated we should then build it larger to accommodate for growth.

Lewis  Smith stated he had a car cover for a C-4 Free to any one. Lawrence  Wesley  said  he could use it, so the cover will go to him.  Lewis had it on his vehicle.

Ed  Marcelle stated that we were 1 of the first  39 people buying a brick for the “Flint Wall” to be erected in the
Corvette Museum .  The wall will go in the St. Louis Section and eventually  620 bricks will compose the wall.

Fred Chidister stated he also has a car cover for a model 53-62 in excellent condition.  He  will  donate  it for a bottle of wine. He also has a stand for a hard top.  The stand has wheel and it  will fit any top.   It is $25.00.

Rick  Berry stated Duck's  Unlimited  is having the 2005 Safety and Conservation Day at Owens Station in
Greenwood , DE from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  The program is free and for children 2 to teen.  For more information on the event send an e-mail to tsenn@ducks.org.

Doug  Riniker asked  if  we could  go back to having club members advertise their business in the Newletter so members could support them.  Doug would also like to see a section in the newsletter or someplace featuring members so we could learn more about each other.  It would include things like hobbies, children, grandchildren etc.  Dianne Shaw stated she never pursued renewal of advertisers for the newsletter as it is now done electronically.  She said she was willing to learn how to put it in the newsletter but requested that someone else do the actual solicitation for advertisers and collect fees.  She also said if members wanted to give or send her their business cards she would learn how to put them in the newsletter.

There was no historian report.

Connie Magee received the inquiry sheet she passed around to see who would be interested in running for an office.  She then read off those willing to take an office.
