Bob comes to his permanent home at 20 Greystone Drive in Lewes from Cincinnati .  He is a retiree and a friend of member Fred Chidister.  Bob’s telephone number is 645-2517 and his e-mail address is bfellows@copper.net.  If you see a 1967 White Coupe scooting down the road just give a wave because it’s likely to be Bob.  Welcome to the Club Bob!

                              Rehoboth Beach .  Dinner at 6 PM followed by meeting at 7:30 PM .

 

February 10th……..Eastern Shore Corvette Club monthly meeting from  7 PM - 9PM .  Contact

February 26th…..Bus Trip to Atlantic City for Car Show and Casino Fun.  Trip is hosted by

                             Eastern Shore Corvette Club.  At newsletter publication it appears all seats on

                             the bus have been reserved.  To check about possible space availability call

                             Ed Marcelle at 644-1967.

 

March…………The club is considering a cruise to the Arundel Mills area of Hanover ,

                            Maryland to attend a  Medieval Times Dinner and Show.  This is supposed

                            To be a real adventure back into medieval time and we, as guests, actually

                            Get to participate in the entertaining aspects of the dinner and show.  A

                            detailed  presentation and decision will be made at the February 3rd meeting. 

 

April 9-10th…….New York City Trip for the New York International Car Show.  This trip is

                             hosted by First State Corvette Club.  The cost for the weekend is $180. Per

                             Person which includes luxury coach bus fare, transportation to the show, and

                             lodging.

 

July……………  Beachcombers night at Shorebirds Stadium.  Date to be announced.

Minutes

Beachcombers Corvette Club - January 6, 2005

 

The meeting was called to order by the Sergeant-At-Arms.

 

Members present were: Dianne & Bill Shaw, Rick & Linda Berry, Ed & Tanya Marcelle, Richard & Kathy Miller, Lawrence & Lana Wesley, Dale & Lynne Buckwalter, Peter & Marion Bon,  Cindy & Doug Riniker, Carol & Tom Brinker, Gary Swartz, Barbara & Len Romansoff, Rose Leister, Don & Connie Magee, Joe Worts, Bill & Sharon Vernon, Fred Chidister.

 

Applicant, Bob Fellows, attended as a guest of member Fred Chidister.

 

President, Joe Worts stated that while there was no December 2004 Newsletter there will be one for January 2005.  That newsletter will contain the December 2004 and January 2005 minutes.  The minutes of both meetings will be put in that newsletter.  Bill Shaw made a motion that the December 2004 and January 2005 minutes be accepted or corrected at the February 3rd meeting.  The motion was second by Bill Vernon and the membership was in favor.

 

A detailed Treasurer’s report was given.  We started January 2005 with a balance of $3,384.83 and received monies totaling $60.25.  We had deductions of $1,002.02 leaving a balance of $2,443.06.  Please see the January 2005 newsletter for a detailed presentation.  A motion was made by Connie Magee to accept the report.  It was second by Rose Leister and the membership was in favor.

 

The Ambassador for the Corvette Museum , member Ed Marcelle, made a presentation about the current fundraiser going on to benefit the Museum’s building fund.  Bricks have been removed from a wall at the Corvette Assembly Plan in Flint , Michigan and are being offered for sale with all proceeds benefiting the building fund.  A club or individual can purchase a brick for themselves.  The brink has a numbered plaque on the front and the purchaser also receives a Certificate of Authenticity.  A club or individual can also purchase a brick which will be personalized for them and then mortared into a memory wall at the museum.  Don Magee made a motion that the club purchase a brick for the memory wall.  It was second by Richard Miller and the membership was in favor.  If you are interested in purchasing a brick please see Ed Marcelle.

 

Ed Marcelle reported that a new 706 will be unveiled on January 10, 2005 at 12:01 a.m. at the Detroit Auto Show.

 

Activities Chairperson, Carolyn Brinker, reminded the members of the following upcoming events:

            January 22nd - First State Corvette Club’s Corvette Bowl - They are having a dinner

                                   Dance with a DJ at the FOP Lodge in Dover .  There will be a cash

                                   Bar.  Contact Rick Berry it you are interested in attending.

 

            February 26th - Atlantic City Car Show and Casino Trip hosted by Eastern Shore

                                    Corvette Club.  This is a day trip by motor coach.  See Ed Marcelle.

 

            March           - The club is considering a cruise to Arundel Mills , Maryland to attend a

            April             -  The club will be working on an overnight trip with the other 2 local clubs.

New Business:

 

Grotta Pizza will be sending us a check for the money our tree raised during the holiday season.

 

Remimder that it is time to lobby for new officers.  Nominations for officers will be taken from the floor during February and March and the election will be held at the April meeting.  The Club By-Laws state that to Run as an Officer of the Club (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Activities Officer, Sergeant of Arms, and Club Historian) a member must have been in the Club for twelve (12) calendar months before being able to accept the position of President or Vice President.  Every active member (paid-up membership by March 1, 2005 , having attended at least 3 meetings and participated in 1 activity during the previous year of membership) of the Club gets 1 vote and all votes will be determined by a simple majority.  Absentee ballots will be placed in the March newsletter.

 

Vice President, Dale Buckwalter, read the application of prospective member Bob Fellows.  Bob is a friend of member Fred Chidister.  A motion was made by Bill Shaw to accept Bob into the Club.  It was second by Fred Chidister and the membership was in favor.  Welcome Bob!  See Bob’s “Welcome” in the newsletter for more details.

 

Reminder - The Club’s fiscal year begins March 1, 2005 so your annual dues has to be paid by that date….$12.50 per person.

BEACHCOMBERS CORVETTE CLUB
MINUTES
December 2, 2004


· President Joe Worts called the meeting to order at
7:30 p.m.

· 28 members were present: Ray and Marie Myers, Don and Connie Magee,
Doug and Cindy Riniker, Tom and Carol Brinker, Richard and Linda
Berry, Rose and Eric Leister, Edward and Tanya Marcelle Rich Miller, Pat
and Otts Bortle, Margaret Bent, Bill and Dianne Shaw, Bill and
Sharon Vernon, Fred Schatz, John and Donna Dunning, and Joe Worts.

· The President welcomed everyone and then asked for the Secretary’s
report. Donna Dunning asked if there were any additions or corrections to
the minutes as stated in the newsletter and then requested that the minutes
be approved as written from the November meeting. Bill Shaw made a
motion to have minutes approved as written and Connie seconded the motion
and they were unanimously approved.

· Joe stated no new applications at this time.

· Joe asked if we wanted to skip the January meeting like last year or
hold a January meeting the Club voted to have the January meeting.

· Diane Shaw read the treasurer’s report. Submitted by Lynne Buckwalter
Joe motion to have the report approved and John seconded and they
were unanimously approved.

· Carol Brinker gave the activities report : St Michael’s trip was a
great turn out and a nice day. Grotto’s provided the club with great food
for the tree trimming, Club mentioned we just have to remember to go to
Grotto’s to take down decorations (This is scheduled for
1-2-5 .) Carol
stated she needs the count for anyone attending the Christmas party by
Monday, you can call or email her.

· She asked if the club was interested in an outing in January, no one
seem to be interested. Don asked if the Lighthouse was going to pay for
half of the DJ as they did last year. Carol stated she will ask them to
do the same this year.

· Connie mentioned that Grotto’s put a sign under our tree for
Delaware
Hospice, and we had voted for the Breast Cancer Society. The club
decided we will donate to the Delaware Hospice as the sign stated, we might
want to be sure next year they are aware of who we will donate to.

· Rick Berry talked to the club about the trip to the museum in
Michigan on the C5 performance tour; they were able to take their cars onto
the racetrack.

· Ed Marcelle has information on buying a brick at the museum 1000
bricks scheduled at the plant to do a wall. The cost is 100 a brick ( see
him for details.)

· Rick Berry and Ed Marcelle, mentioned their club First State has two
trips planned one on 2-26-5 bus trip to Atlantic City cost $31.00 each.

·
New York car show over night 4-9-5 and 4-10-5 cost $180.00 a person.
The club sent around sign up sheets, Ed mentioned they would need the
money at the January meeting.

· Bill Vernon mentioned he found the 327 block he had been searching
for from a person in
New York
· Ed Marcelle stated that the photos of the new C6Z06 are out and
passed around a copy.
·
The 50/50 was held and was won by Lana Westley

· Two door prize tickets were drawn 2005 Corvette Calendar donated by
John and Donna Dunning won by Bill Shaw.

· Goodie bag donated by Pat and Otts Bortle won by Lawrence Wesley

· The President adjourned the meeting at
8:06 p.m.
