PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:
Dianne and I wish you a
holiday filled with all things bright & beautiful in the company of those
you love.
We had a great Holiday Party
and it was so good to meet some spouses we had not met. It was good to have John Dunning with
us. He’s spent so many days and months
in the various hurricane regions and he’s been missed. Likewise it was terrific to see Bill Vernon
so soon after his hip surgery.
We had about 15-20 cars
participating in the Millsboro Parade. I
stayed around for the award presentations but we were not among the winners
which was a disappointment given our display of cars.
Thinking back over 2005 our
club has a lot to be thankful for. Dianne
continues to get good reports post cancer
surgery. Johns Hopkins doctors decided
Connie Magee did not need additional thyroid surgery which was great news. Otts Bortle is doing well and for that we are most
grateful. Kerry Reid learned that his
cancer treatment regime is very promising.
We pray for his continued strength through his weekly treatments over
the next few months. On a less serious
note…we have a beautiful trophy case….a successful car show with a lot of
member participation…monetary contributions to the American Cancer Society and
Grant-a-Wish Foundation…a lot of fun at our various club activities…increasing
membership and most importantly…members who are there to help each other. As Bill Vernon said “our
club…it’s about the people”.
We continue our prayers for
our members who lost loved ones during 2005 and for the Magees
daughter, Lori, who was deployed stateside but far from family and
friends. I hope Lori knows how grateful
we all are for her service to our Country and for working every day to keep us
free and safe.
Have a Happy New Year and
see you on January 5th!
Bill
