PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:
As a Club we have much to be
thankful for!
Kudos to 1st
State Chevy-Olds for sponsoring us, contributing so significantly to the cost
of the trophy case, displaying the case so prominently, and giving us such a
great site for our Car Show.
I proudly THANK our members
who gave so much of themselves to make our CAR SHOW such a success! So many members were able to work at the
show that it made the day’s tasks less taxing.
A strong group of hearty souls were there from 7 a.m. when the first table
was set up until about 3 p.m. when the last bag of trash was carried to the
dumpster. Others arrived intermittently
and were diligent to their commitments and stayed through clean up. Everyone pitched in to do whatever had to be
done. There was so much multi-tasking
going on it is impossible to identify each thing our members did but it is
important to me that I acknowledge – Connie & Don Magee, Rose & Eric
Leister, Carolyn & Tom Brinker, Marie & Ray Myers, Linda & Jack
Casto, Cindy & Doug Riniker, Kathy & Rich Miller, Lana & Larry
Wesley, Lee-Ellen & Pete Bryan, Bruce Bent, Rick Berry, Ed Marcelle, Wayne
Esposito, Bill Vernon, Joe Scott, Buddy Clark and his Daughter, Courtney, and
Dianne.
I also sincerely thank Randy
from First State Corvette Club who gave his time and talent by photographing
each show participant sitting in his/her car and producing the photographs on
the spot so they could be inserted into participation plaques and award plaques
for the winners. I’ll bring my plaque
to the September 1st meeting for everyone to see. I encourage others to bring their plaques
too.
To our members who
contribute so much throughout the year in the Club’s other events but were
unable to join us at the show, please know you were missed.
Otts Bortle joined us in his
chauffer-driver vette – it was a delight for everyone to see him doing so well!
You must drop by 1st
State Chevy-Olds to see our beautiful trophy case. Let’s all say THANK YOU to Bill Vernon for working with our Club
Sponsor, Lee Turek, to get the trophy case built and installed. A big THANK YOU to the Club’s Founder, Lenny
Kozarski, for working with Bill on the arrangement of the trophies and other
memorabilia in the case.
Linda & Rick Berry graciously
opened their home, pool, hot tub, and Corvette Museum to our members in late
July and we had a great time – MANY THANKS!
Their hospitality, burgers, hot dogs, and cold, cold beer were a tasty
compliment to the yummy side dishes contributed by all the attendees. If you’ve never seen their museum, make it a
must at their next invitation!
Thanks everyone
Bill
