************************************************************************ PRESIDENT’S
MESSAGE
We have talked about owning and driving a Corvette, but now let’s talk about general ownership. When parking, be careful opening doors into sidewalks, other cars, and telephone poles. When entering the car, always check your shoes for foreign matter. Where to park – much care is required in selecting just the right spot. The back row on the end is the perfect spot and park to the far side of the parking spot away from other cars. It is always difficult for your significant other to park and leave their car behind, so
let them take a last look before departing. To protect your investment while it is parked
I prefer to use The Kobe.

How to figure your score on the PARANOIA test:
Each a. answer is worth 4 points
Each b. answer is worth 2 points
Each c. answer is worth 3 points
Add up your score and this will determine what stage your are in.
50 – 65 points
You are a CORVETTE illiterate and shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a CORVETTE, let alone inside of one.
66 – 80 points
You are showing definite signs of weakness. This being the primary stage, it’s not too late to put a stop to your possession. Start by going roller-skating on weekends instead of washing your car and seek some sort of professional help.
81 – 95 points
You have a severe case of CORVETTE PARANOIA and there’s very little you can do by yourself. Start to say good-bye to your family or sweetheart. Your car has become an extension of our inner self. You’re probably spending more time and money on your car trying to keep up with the next CORVETTE owner and still you can’t be satisfied.
96 – 100 points
You are at the extremely dangerous and critical level. Sell your CORVETTE and buy a BMW or Mercedes
and check into a qualified CORVETTE PARANOIA CLINIC located in your
neighborhood.
Save the wave!
Scott, El Presidente

BEACHCOMBERS CORVETTE CLUB’S
ANNUAL CAR SHOW – AUGUST 16,
2008
On the grounds of 1st State Chevy-Olds
Route 113 –
Chairman – Bill Shaw –
302-541-4891
Remember that the July meeting
will be your last opportunity to purchase a picture plaque… no club pics will
be taken the day of the car show. Please
call Joe Schluck at 302-855-0358 to
schedule for July pic. Kudos to
Violet Chilcoat for taking the pics at the June meeting!
We have some more successes to
report in the Food Concession area. In
addition to the 10 cases of bottled water coming from Harris Teeter in
We do have a vendor coming to
the showing…ice cream and Italian Ice.
At the June meeting Connie
Magee reported that she has not yet received any Door Prize contributions. We’ve hand carried letters to a lot of the
businesses along Rt 26 between Delaware National Bank and Route 1. She also dropped letters at Atlantic Liquors
on Route 1 near Wal-Mart and Accents jewelry just off Route 1.
Seek out businesses such as
restaurants, liquor stores, dry cleaners, amusement parks, coffee shops, donut
places, movies, car service, almost anything. I
know there is a new strip mall containing a Ledo Pizza, Asian Buffet, Rita’s
Ice, Pretzels, and Pepper’s. These new businesses
would be good places to take a letter to and seek a door prize. Dianne adapted Connie’s letter so you can
personalize it naming the business. If
you want to use it just email Dianne at zinykake@aol.com
and she will send it to you
We have some car shows or
other events coming up in July and we’ll need flyer distribution coverage but
we will talk about that at the July 3rd meeting.
Some of the items we still
need are: 4 lb hammer, small coffee
maker, karaoke machine, tents or canopies, 4 heavy duty extension cords, 6 coolers, and small folding tables and
chairs to use in the refreshment area.
I’ll be sending the sign up sheet around at the July meeting.
At our work stations we still
need the following: 2 in Registration,
more in Set Up and Take Down, cashier(s) at the food concession stands and food
and beverage servers.
Your participation is
exceptional and greatly appreciated.

THE STORK BUZZED THEIR HOUSE
FLAPPING ITS WINGS AND MAKING HONKING
SOUNDS
The Magees bolted outside
hearing the deafening ruckus! They
looked up gasping then gaped at each other in near frenzy…then the telephone
rang announcing the birth of their Granddaughter! While this is the 4th time for
these veterans it is their first Grandaughter . What a blessing! After melting Grandmom’s heart I wonder which
finger she’ll wrap Grandpop around?!
Connie & Don…congratulations from all of us!
Note: I have no idea what sounds a stork makes but
you got the picture !
