PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

The Adopt-a-Highway event was a great success. Thank you all members who joined me and my daughter Courtney.  Don and Connie Magee, George Stadler, Bill Vernon, Doug and Cindy Riniker, Larry Wesley, Bill Shaw, and Wayne and Michelle Esposito. We picked up an excess of 16 large bags of trash which made that section of road litter free (except the cigarette buts that were impossible to pick up). Upon completion of our clean up duties we all gathered at Grotto Pizza on Long Neck road to enjoy some pizza and sodas. Thanks to Grotto who even picked up part of the tab.

The current update on our member Otts Bortle is that he is “holding his own” and taking advantage of every good day.  Among his joys is getting out in his Vette when his nephew or brother are able to take him for a little ride.  Pat is doing well and both are grateful for contacts from friends here in the club.  Let’s keep those cards of cheer going in their direction.

I would ask that each member consider picking up 2 applications to have on hand for anyone they may run across who expresses an interest in joining the club. Having an application readily available to give to the prospective member to mail (or bring in to the next meeting) with a check will expedite the membership process.

First State Chevy will again sponsor our club this year. In addition to this substantial commitment they offer Beachcombers club members a 10% Discount on all service charges. All you have to do is show your current Membership Card to the Cashier when checking out.  Please continue to support and show our appreciation to First State Chevrolet.

Please look over the upcoming events section of the newsletter. Lots of fun stuff coming up over the next few months. First States annual Car Show, Dairy Queens Casual Cruise nights Beachcombers in Ocean City, Beachcombers Cruise to Shorebirds Stadium, just to name a few.

Thank you to members Eric Leister, Marie & Ray Myers, Jim Willis, Lew Smith, and Bill Shaw who represented the club by carrying dignitaries in the Town of Millville’s Centennial Parade.

I will be out of town for the June meeting. We will not return until late the evening of the 1st of June. I’ll see you all in July.

Buddy
