PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:
I have some great news to pass along to you! Connie and Don Magee’s daughter, Lori, has
been promoted to the rank of Captain. She
was activated awhile ago and still serves far away from home at her temporary
duty station in Kentucky. On the subject
of the Magee’s…..thank you Connie for preparing all those copies of the club’s
By-Laws, the membership lists, and the calendar of events.
By this writing member Kerry Reid will have completed all his
chemotherapy treatments which is wonderful news to
pass along. Dianne visited with him recently
and said he looks really good. We hope
to see him soon!
At the February 2nd meeting there was a motion and vote to
increase the dues to $15 per person/$30 per couple effective February 28,
2006. On March 1st dues for
2006-2007 is due. Our Treasurer, Lynne Buckwalter, will be collecting dues from now until we vote
for our new officers at the April 6th meeting.
Be sure to take a look at the Activities section. We have some scheduled events coming up as
well as some proposals. The Brinkers are again having their St. Patrick’s Day party at
their home on March 11th.
This is always a great fun evening!
You’d be missing a fun evening if you did not attend.
I understand it’s not too late to reserve a spot at the Gordon Killibrew Workshop on Saturday, March 4th. Details are in the Activities section.
We decided to form a Committee to review the By-Laws rather than doing
it at the meeting. Members are asked to
review them for any changes they might see.
Any identified updates will then be presented and discussed at a meeting
and a vote will be taken.
A very
important activity is coming up - Election of Club Officers at
the April 6th meeting. We
have a lot of talent and knowledge among our members. I encourage each of you to consider running
for office. Holding an office within our
organization is not a burdensome task.
The record keeping of those before me made my job, and that of the other
officers, an easy task. Most
importantly…you’d be supported by a strong network of dedicated members. Please give it some serious thought. Your club needs YOU!
I’ll see you all at the LaRosa Negra Restaurant on March 2nd
!
Bill
