OUTGOING PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:  My message is simple – Beachcombers’ experienced a successful 2005-2006 because of the dedication of its members.  “Thank you very much” to my fellow officers, committee chairs, those who perform myriad behind the scenes tasks that benefit our club and our members.  I have appreciated  your support and confidence!       Bill

INCOMING PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

The new officers thank you for the opportunity to serve this year. I personally am looking forward to all the events we have planned. It will be a pleasure to serve with all the other active members we have in this club. It is the unselfishness and willingness to help that our members show that make this club the outstanding organization that it is. I thank each of you for that.

Summer is here and it is time for some cruising, shows and other community events.  Here are a few so far:

Dairy Queen in Millsboro on Rt. 24, (across from the Millsboro Post Office) is doing their informal cruise night every Tuesday from 6-9 p.m.

Millville will be having a parade on May 20th. If we elect to participate, we will meet at 12::00 noon to line up for the parade which begins at 1:00 p.m.. More information will be available at the May meeting.

May 10th will once again be Highway clean-up day. As you may be aware, our club has adopted a portion of Long Neck Road as a part of the Adopt-a-Highway program. This program has been an ongoing community service project for us. We pick up trash for a 1 mile section of Long Neck Road., south from Rt. 24. We will meet at Wilmington Trust Company Branch (located at the corner of Rt. 24 and Long Neck Road) at 6:00 p.m. There will be orange reflective vests for all to wear for safety reasons. When clean up is done, we will head over to the Grotto for pizza. This is always an enjoyable evening and a nice outreach to the Community.

The By-Laws Committee will do a brief presentation at the May 4th meeting. Handouts were distributed at the April Meeting and will be on hand again May 4th for review.  Members receiving the newsletter via e-mail will find a copy attached.  Members receiving the newsletter by mail should have received them with the March newsletter.  We expect to discuss and vote on these proposed changes that evening.
